Abolitionista! Comic Book Workshop
Did you know that there are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in history?
Our Abolitionista! Comic Book Workshop explores the history of slavery and human trafficking both globally and in our own communities. Through creative use of traditional and project-based learning activities, including our Abolitionista! comic books, film clips, and worksheet materials, we help participants understand the very real dangers human trafficking presents while equipping them to protect themselves. The workshop culminates in participants creating their own comic book about a young person who escapes a human trafficker.
Each workshop includes
The history of slavery
Human trafficking around the world
Human trafficking in our neighborhood
Creating your own comic book
